And whatsoever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

Col 3:17

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Samson Option began in September of 2012 with this question.  "How does one not realize that the Lord has left them?"  That's a, as we used to say in the 60's, "heavy" question.

While studying the Book of Judges this verse landed and stuck with me like a fly on sugar.  I had to do something with it because it was driving me nuts.

"'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' And he awoke from his sleep, and said, 'I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free.' And he did not know that the LORD had left him." Judges 16:20

I am smart enough to know that I didn't want to experience the answer the way Samson did. I had escaped his ordeal only by the grace and mercy of God because I had Christ Jesus in my life;  I was 'born again' in Him as the Bible tells us, we are made in the image of God to serve Him. Gen 1:26-28

God gave Samson a specific responsibility, to Judge and protect Israel; a noble task and one the Lord provided him the ability to execute. Samson allowed his purpose to be swayed by his appetite for the things of this world.  He wasn't thinking in the spiritual realm but in the physical.
Samson was the strongest man to ever live and proved it repeatedly by his masterful feats of strength and stamina.  What struck me was how Samson trusted in his strength and took for granted that God would always be with Him-even when he forsook Him and did things his own why.  Perhaps that's your view today and that's why the Samson Option exists.

Strength, as Samson's is given by God.  In fact everything we are, do, and have are from Him.  He is Lord of our lives whether we like it or not.  Our training regime must be directed first to the Lord and then to our physical training.  Samson was the strongest man in the world and could have anything he wanted but he was lost because he failed to follow God first.

That being said, I am 70 years of age and now retired.  I'm considering stopping the weekly publications pending your response to this question:  "Is the Samson Option serving your physical and spiritual growth?"

If we are or have been helping you, please respond by email to xapis4me@gmail.com subject line The Samson Option.  Let me know how this ministry has helped you.

Thank you and may the Lord bless you and keep you in Him.
